Les Tendres de Chanel in Les Roses.

I picked this lovely highlighter and blush on my flight back from Hong Kong last October, I've only just taken it out of the packaging and started using a few days ago...
This powder is however only an inflight exclusive for Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines as far as I know.

Chanel Poudre Tissee in Brompton Road & Les Roses.

I swatched it next to Brompton Road as the shade reminded me of the other gorgeous exclusive. It is indeed very similar in shade, Les Roses is only slightly warmer in pink. However with the different stripes in Les Roses, I'm sure we could get the exact shade as Brompton Road.

Mini G-Market Haul.

My last G-Market order was nearly a year ago, it takes a lot of patience and time to explore the masses of items on that site that I couldn't be bothered anymore lol. But the credit in my account was crying to be spent.

Check out my previous posts for more information on gmarket for those who don't know what it is.

After my recent visits to the website, I find that G-Market is a little more easily to navigate for international users.

There is a little translate button next to each listing so you can get a idea of what the listing has.

On some listings. if there is a item you want that comes in various colours; you can click on the item image which then opens up another page, on that separate page there's usually pictures of each colour option and the colour in Korean for you to find on the drop list in the listing.

So for example:

I want this jumper in red.

I click on the pic and these helpful options come up on another page...

All you then have to do is find the item on the drop down menu of the original listing (first one for this particular jumper).

(S17루크(양털) : 카키) << what to look for in drop down menu. I wanted a new jacket and this one looked so warm online with it's wool lining.

It's quite thin but I think with the wool lining it will be be warm enough, will have to test this out!

All three sellers shipped off the items in record time and my parcel was shipped quickly from G-Market's warehouse, there was a small delay in receiving this haul as customs caught me. With G-Market, it is really hit and miss with whether customs will retain your package and hit you with charges. Out of the many orders I have made with them, I've had to pay the charges twice.

Secret Valentine!

After a successful and fun Secret Santa Exchange at the end of last year, Sheila decided to organise a small Secret Valentine one this year.

I received my Secret Valentine package last week and had hid it away to refrain myself from opening it.

I had no idea who my Secret Valentine at all, especially as they signed it was S.Valentine too.

And to my surprise, when I opened the package and read the card it was from Kathy! You are so sneaky! :P She used another return address so I wouldn't know who it was from lol.

I remember reading somewhere that the tint was similar to the new YSL Volie de Blushes, so excited to try this. And eee yay another purple blush! :D

Jian gifted me with this gorgeous blush for my birthday a few months back. Although it arrived in the post totally crumbled and in a milled form, it still works to it's true beauty. And in all honesty, now it is all loose I can get more uses out of it lol.
It now lives in a lovely sifter pot, which Jian also provided! :)

I absolutely love purple blushes and Morale is one of the best in my stash!

It's a beautiful light violet shade with gold shimmer.

Revlon Lip Butter doesn't hit our shelves until sometime next month (it seems we are one of the last! lol). We've been hearing a lot of raves about these tinted lipbalms or even creamy lipsticks, as some are so pigmented, in the blogging world.
And I can see why, for a pretty affordable price the Lip Butters are pretty darn amazing.

L'oreal Infallible Eyeshadow Addict.

Hello I'm Vicky and I'm becoming a Infallible eyeshadow addict...

Nine eyeshadows may not be a lot, but a couple of lovely friends from the US have grabbed me some shades exclusive to their drugstores too. I will keep you updated with those when I get them. There are still a couple of shades that I want to grab here too... XD

Why am I addicted to these? Because of a few enablers on my twitter list!! <3 And because they are extremely soft in texture and really pigmented in colour.
For £6.99 a pop, they are pretty affordable. Even better when they are on offer. Currently £3.99 in Superdrugs as far as I know.

This collection has both matte and shimmery shades, however the shimmery ones work a lot easier than the matte.
I found with the only matte shade I have (Sweet Strawberry), it is terribly hard to apply onto the eyes. I've tried both brush and fingers but the colour transfer is so minimal. It swatches on my arm easier.

Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Lipstick: #33 La Distinguée.

Some of you may know that I really like matte lip products, however people tend to steer away from them as they can be drying on the lips.

La Distinguée is moisturising when applied, however if you have extremely dried lips I don't think these are the right lipsticks. I find that they can accentuate flaky lips, also after a few minutes it feels drying on your lips even though is isn't. Does that even make sense?

I managed to snap this lipstick on buyapowa last week.

It arrived a few days later gift wrapped...

La Distinguée is a beigey peachy coral that looks so natural on. I really love the colour, but not so much how it feels after a while. The more I think about it (I have it on now), the more it's started to bother me lol.

Armani Blushing Fabric in #2

Armani's Blushing Fabrics were on blush I wanted to try, and being a blush fiend I had to eventually! Thanks to Jamilla's awesome blog sale a while back, I was able to at a great price :)

I love the colour and texture of this blush, such a pretty raspberry shade. It's a gel like formula and blends a treat. I usually apply it dot by dot with my finger, gradually layering on the colour.

17 Wild Metallic Eyes: Purple.

These 17 Wild Metallic Eyes have been very popular amongst the blogsphere, and at £3.99 a pop I had always wanted to try them. The leopard print packaging being one of the factors why and also as these were apparently comparable to the Chanel potties.

Now I don't own any of the Chanel ones as I found them really shimmery and it didn't really wow me. When I swatched the 17 ones in stores I found the texture really similar to the MAC Paint Pots and they swatched quite beautifully (especially the Nude shade, which was out of stock!) I decided to grab a couple to try, the purple shade being one of them. Now when I swatched this pot when I got home, the texture was completely different to the tester in stores. It was indeed similar to the Chanel ones, a moussey creamy soft texture. I guess if exposed to the air for long enough it will dry out and turn Paint Pot like.

The swatch is pretty right? Yet when I applied it onto my eyes, it was simply a wash of lilac with shimmer. I found it hard to build the colour on because it was so creamy, the product just constantly moved if that makes sense.

The above photo shows a sheer wash of colour, which is pretty but I expected a intense purple.

I would wear this on its own as a daytime look but I've come to the conclusion that cream eyeshadows does not work for me, especially one with similar textures to this (MAC Paint Pots work better for me).

I have slightly oily eyelids and the 17 Wild Metallic Eyes are a no no in that case. I tried a primer but it makes no difference (creases within minutes!) whatsoever which is a disappointment as I was ready to purchase the Nude shade. There is nothing I can do but use this as a base...

I have been seriously lacking on the blogging side, sorry! The lighting here is really bad and I have been enjoying my days off a little too much. Hopefully I'll get some photos taken real soon and get back to regular posting.

One huge highlight of the past year is the amount of people I have had the opportunity of meeting and getting to know through Blogger and Twitter.

Through Blogger I was able to discover people's Twitter account and follow (stalk XD) them and vice versa. I feel so lucky to make so many dear friends through blogging and tweeting. I hope this year I can get to know you a lot better, meet many more of you and make many more friendship along this road.

年糕. Chinese New Year Cake.

I was still in Hello Kitty mode when I suggested to my mum that we should use the moulds to make 年糕 (nian gao/Chinese New Year Cake). So with our experiment hats on we rustled up a few today.

The key ingredients in making nian gao are glutinous rice flour, sugar and water. Rather than it being a 'normal cake' it's more of a chewy dessert, sort of like mochi?

With these key ingredients, you can also add your own flavours if you like to try something different (essence etc.) my mum usually like to add a little block of creamed coconut.

Sugar wise, people usually use brown rock sugar blocks but you can use caster (the mixture would be a white colour rather than the traditional golden colour).

Nian Gao are very simple and quick to make, today I'm going to share with you our family recipe.

You will need (makes about 7-8 small cakes or one medium one):

250g Glutinous Rice Flour.

1 and a half block of brown sugar blocks.

Roughly 2x2cm (or a little more depending if you want a stronger coconut flavour) cube of Creamed Coconut.

250ml of water.

Firstly you heat up the sugar, creamed coconut and water in a pan until everything dissolves.

Wait for the mixture to cool down for a bit, about 10-15 mins.

Add in the Glutinous rice flour and bind everything together until it looks like this:

Distribute the mixture evenly in the moulds, or pan if you are making one. With the mixture above we were able to make a extra one:

Put it in the steamer and steam for about 20mins. To test whether the cakes are ready, poke with a wet chopstick/fork/knife and if it comes out with no mixture stuck to it then they are ready.

Leave the cake to fully cool down before turning them out of the moulds otherwise they will be very sticky and a nightmare to work with.

There are a couple of ways to eat Nian Gao:

You can eat it when they are fully cooled and they'll be soft and chewy.

Leave it for a couple of days until it hardens (sort of like fudge) and eat it like that.

Or leave it to harden, dip it in a beaten egg and pan fry them so it's crunchy on the outside and gooey inside.

All I wanted was a pair of earrings.

I first saw the earrings on the Selfridges website, but thought I'd check to see if it was available in stores first. The lovely salesman on the MBMJ counters told me they were sold out of the cream and gold version I wanted *huge sadface*. I then decided to drag my little sister to find the actual MBMJ store which I knew was nearby.

In the depth of a quiet but beautiful (and posh) area behind the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street we found the store and came out with a bagful of goodies...

The store is quiet small, but the atmosphere is really nice inside. The first floor has their ready to wear products as well as Marc Jacobs fragrances, bags and jewellery, the bottom floor (The Vault) has the Marc Jacobs special products.

The Vault was where I went slightly crazy as the products were more affordable for me :D

I grabbed the pens on a whim, the lipstick one is for my little sister and the Sharpie simply because I wanted a silver pen XD

A couple of things I have been fangirling lately... ^_^

K-Drama: My Princess.

This drama was out earlier this year and I've only just managed to start it lol.

It is a light-hearted romance comedy, the two leads Kim Tae Hee and Song Seung Hun are so funny in their roles. I don't know why but these cliche K-Dramas are so fun to watch. You will really hate the evil ones and love the funny and cute characters.

I'm almost done with this drama and will continue to watch Tree with Deep Roots with is the total opposite to this one, it has a really serious gripping storyline which I am loving.

Michael Buble-Christmas.

This album is so perfect for Christmas (well of course, it his Christmas album XD), I love this guy's voice. Ahh he's so amazing!

I've been watching fancams of the recent YG Concert and it is so awesome.
This video never fails to make me laugh omg haha.

I also watched eatyourkimichi's video of their experience at the concert and I really want to go to one now.
I was was talking to Jian, D, and Tiffany about it on twitter the other day, we will go together one day!! :D

As you can see one swipe straight from the stick (or tube?) is very heavy. I usually dab it onto my cheeks then I'll blend it with a brush, and build on the colour that way.

Fangirling: WGM Teukso (Dimples) Couple.

I love We Got Married, the show has had a huge number of stars starring in this variety show and it has become such a great hit.

I don't watch the entire show, just couples that I feel like watching lol. Currently I have been following the 'Dimples' couple every week, they are so cute!

Some of the previous couples I enjoyed were the Sweet Potato couple (SNSD's Seohyun and CNBlue's Yonghwa), Adam Couple (2AM's Jo Kwon and BEG's Ga In) and Khuntoria couple (2PM's Nickhun and F(x)'s Victoria).

I think the reason why I enjoy this show is because you get to see a insight of how Koreans are in a relationship, or at least how the people in the show are as they are not really dating.

The Dimples couple are the newest couple in the show, so we are only on episode eight. Husband Leeteuk from Super Junior and Wife Kang Sora an actress are so awkward, it's adorable! But they are so sweet together and I can't wait till they get closer and are fully comfortable with each other. I always say to my sister with every couple I watch on this show that the guy is falling for the girl for real! XD

Collection 2000 Cream Puffs.

I love the cute names of these collection 2000 Lip Creams. I have all four of the Cream Puffs as I really love the formula and how they apply. And plus they are super cheap at £2.99 each, even better when Superdrug or Boots have them on 3 for 2! :)

The Cream Puffs have a matte finish, I really like matte lip products at the moment. These are really creamy and are very pigmented.

I love all the shades except #2 Powder Puff which is way to pale for my already pale complexion. Not a good look at all.

NOTD: Golden Croc.

I have been ever so curious about the new Barry M Croc Nail Effects polish. I really liked the crackle polish, so this was a must try. I also got the Gold Foil Effect polish as the black against the gold in the Croc polish looked really pretty...

Gold Foil Effect Polish: One Coat.

I thought the formula of the Croc Effect polish would be similar to Barry M's crackle one, but they are totally different. Where the crackle one was much thicker in consistency, the croc one is thinner. The crackle dried matte and almost instantly, the croc dries glossy and took much longer for the effect to show up and completely dry.

As you can see the effect varies. The thicker you apply the polish on your nails, the longer it takes to dry but the effect is bigger and vice versa.

I think I like this more than the crackle :D

Sleek's The Berry Collection.

I know some of you have probably seen it a lot in the blog world, but to those who haven't seen the swatches and especially to Tiffany who asked on twitter, here's a quick post.

The Berry collection was released on Wednesday as part of Sleek's Christmas release and is limited edition.

The set is £9.99 and is available on their website and in Superdrug. The little red and black box contains a kohl eyeliner, blush and lipstick.

Sleek Kohl Pencil in Mossberry, True Colour Lipstick in Cranberry, Blush in Fenberry.

Mossberry, Cranberry, Fenberry.

I love the lipstick and blush, but the kohl pencil makes me look bruised so I would use it as a lip pencil instead.

The pencil and lipstick are 'tougher' in formula compared to others I have used, they are not as creamy and require more effort in applying. They are drier in formula but not drying to the lips.

Finally, one thing I want to rave about. The Superdrug feedback survey.

If you shop at Superdrug frequently and have some time to spare, completing the survey online is really worth it. I try to do these as often as I can :D

All you have to do is go to their feedback website and complete a few questions about the service you receive for your lastest shopping experience, you then receive a code which you have to write on the back of the receipt and take it into store to use on your next trip. The only catch is that you have to complete and use the discount within 30days from the date on your receipt, and you have to spend £10 or over.

Chanel Rogue Allure Laque in Ming.

Me, I'm too easily enabled! A few raves and swatches and it's straight on my wishlist...

Chanel Rouge Allure being one of too many of these lemmings.

Ming, along with a few more shades were on the list. While I was out with Yasumi yesterday, a few mentions of Debenham card points due to expire and Ming being her favourite, this beauty was redeemed.

Ming is a creamy mauve pink colour. Like many bloggers mentioned, it's like a lipstick but in a cream form. It is pigmented but not drying as perhaps some lipsticks are. I for one am in love with this formula, I need to swatch those Collection 2000 Cream Puffs for you soon as those reminds me of this a little.

Jill Stuart vs Dior Addict Lipsticks.

Remember my previous post about Jill Stuart's lipstick? I mentioned that I found them to be very similar to the Dior Addicts, well here's a little comparison to show you what I mean.

Packaging.

Both Dior and Jill Stuart's lipstick are creamy in texture, they glide on very well and smoothly onto the lips. Pigmentation-wise, they are also very similar (see swatches below). They are not extremely pigmented but the level of pigmentation is identical.
Jill Stuart is a tiny bit glossier than Dior, but it isn't a major difference.

Jill Stuart Rosy Coral, Dior Addict Basic, Dior Addict Diorkiss.

All in all, if you can get hold of Jill Stuart definitely give these lipsticks a try. They work out cheaper than Dior based on the Jill Stuart (retail) price in Hong Kong than the Dior (retail) price in the UK. Jill Stuart: HK$220 (about £18) vs Dior: £22. It may or may not work out cheaper for everyone, depends on exchange rate at the moment.

On Second Looks.

The result of these following purchases? I couldn't resist the pretty packaging, design and/or name of the product.

Initially I had no plans whatsoever to get these items, but obviously the influence of bloggers (<3) and spotting them in store changed my mind instantly.

The cutest names!! Collection 2000 Cream Puffs smell so yummy, available in four shades these lip creams are so pigmented and are matte! I'll be doing a post on these soon.

I'm such a sucker for these kind of drinks. My curious radar goes crazy for stuff that has ginseng and tea. I already tried the White tea one and it's really nice!

L'Occitane African Happy Hands Trio Set. The design of these tubes are based on African fabrics, they all smell really lovely. You can probably guess why I bought this :P

NARS Hanamichi Kabuki Inspired Eyeshadow Palette. This is most beautiful make up item I own, I swatched it in store and it's is extremely soft and pigmented, super pretty!

Giorgio Armani Sheer Lipstick in #31

I grabbed this lipstick from Jamilla's blog sale last week. I really love the Armani products I already own and at Jamilla's amazing prices, I couldn't pass up of this (and a blush which will be revealed soon).

Like the name of the product suggest, this lipstick is sheer. The formula is looovely, it applies so smoothly and I found it to be moisturising too.

#31 is a dark raspberry colour and it's quite flattering against my skin tone.

Fangirling: Huh Gak.

This guy has such an amazing voice! ♥

Huh Gak was the winner of Superstar K2, a Korean talent contest kinda show, and he is so underrated.

He has a mini album out with the title song 'Hello' which is such a sad ballad.

A Cube Entertainment (Huh Gak's record company) has recently released the continuation from this music video- 'I Told You I Wanna Die'.

Two of my favourite songs at the moment.
Huh Gak is definitely a artist to look out for if you are into ballads, you mush check out the rest of his mini album too 'First Story'.

Cheung Chau.

Cheung Chau is a little island about a hour ferry ride away from Hong Kong.

It was one of my favourite places that we visited. It's such a small island, and one which I'm sure you can explore in one day.

The air was clean as they are no cars, everyone rides bikes and instead of the constant beeping you hear in the city you hear dings of bicycle bells.

I loved the narrow alleyways that lead to treasured views.

Everyone knew each other, it is such a close community. <3

It's like another world, I feel like I've walked into a Hong Kong drama/movie set in the older days.

Hong Kong: The Haul.

If you follow my twitter, you'll probably know that I spent the last two weeks (-ish) in Hong Kong.

The weather was lovely (sometimes a little too hot for me!), food is ridiculous cheap, it's a shopping heaven and the views are amazing.

Chanel Tweed Rose.

As the name states the blush has a tweed-like texture.

It's such a pretty warm muted rose shade and it's so lovely to use now we're going into the Autumn.

Lunasol Ocean Scene Eyes: 01 Warm Ocean.

Georgina and I did a little swap with some of our unwanted make-up. I had never tried Lunasol before and was excited to try oout one of their palettes.
Warm Ocean was released earlier this year as part of Lunasol's spring collection.
I chose this palette especially because of the last shade, the purple is really pigmented. The first three shades are practically the same tone in different colours, nothing special in my opinion.

I used the white as highlight on my brow bone, the pink all over my lid, the blue in the inner corner and the purple in the outer corner.

Jill Stuart Lipstick in 18 Rosy Coral.

Look what Justine gifted me as a early Birthday present!
When I hear 'Jill Stuart', make-up wise I think of her eyeshadow palettes or blushes, so I was excited to try a 'new' product from her range.

Rosy Coral swatches sheerer than I expected, its more pinky than coral.

Packaging and swatch-wise, I think these lipsticks are fairly similar to the Dior Addicts. Obviously Dior has the chunkier package, but Jill Stuart is cheaper.

Make Up Forever Glossy Full Couleur: #4

#4 Vibrant Fuchsia Pink.

This gloss applies sheer as opposed to what it looks like in the tube. You would have to apply a thick layer in order to get a much more pigmented colour, yet that would look over glossy and horrible. The formula is quite thick and has a methanol smell and tingles on the lips.

Natural light, flash.

Beside the tingly feeling, which wears off after a while, the gloss sit well on the lips and is not sticky at all.

OPI Rally Pretty Pink.

This beauty is currently on my nails...

Flash

In natural light the pink base shows as a light magenta, with the flash it shows up darker. I love that duo-chrome effect. The gold shimmer is really fine and would make removing easier than chunky glitter.

It's so pretty and I can't stop staring at it! LOL.

Lavender Blush!

The last instalment of these 'crazy' blush colours (until I find another one) features the Miss Grape lavender blush from this post.

Ok, so upon application the blush blended into my skin and with my skintone. A few more layers was applied and this was the result...

Natural light, Flash.

It's horrible!! LOL. The lavender colour totally disappears and leaves a white cast, yuck yuck yuck! I had no idea what I could have done with it at this point-taking it off was no option, I'm too lazy-so I just applied another blush over it.

One good thing about this blush is that it's a great blush base, a good ten hours and my blush was still staying strong.

Orange Blush!

I think this week's posts are solely dedicated to 'different' coloured blushes :)

Today is orange, the Miss Tangerine shade from this post.

Natural light, Flash.

This blush doesn't come out as pigmented on my cheeks as it did when I swatched it on my arm, however I was still careful with the amount I applied.

Dot by dot I layered on the cream blush until it was to a wearable colour.

It is totally a different shade for me and I'm still on the fence about it.

Red Blush!

Remember the Maybelline's Ravishing Rouge, the red blush I swatched a couple of weeks ago here?

Well I tried it on today and it is SUPER pigmented, seriously you only need to the smallest amount on your brush.

As much as I like a pop of colour on my cheeks, this red is a big pop of colour. Therefore to make it work to my taste, I applied a little more foundation on top to make the shade more subtle.

Etude House Miss Tangerine Cream Choux Blushers.

I have wanted to try these blushes for ages now, being a blush fiend and all. Thanks to the lovely Georgina, I've got my hands on all four shades.

Swatched: #1, #2, #3, #4

#1: Miss Tangerine. A bright orange shade.
#2: Miss Peach. A pale peach shade.
#3: Miss Berry. A candy pink.
#4: Miss Grape. A pale lavender shade.

Lightly Blended: #1, #2, #3, #4

These cream blushes have a texture of both a mousse and gel. They blend really well and are easily buildable.
It's best to use these sparingly, especially with shade #1, and slowing build to your desired colour.

These next few swatches are of just one or two dots and blended to a decent shade that my camera was able to catch.

Blended: #1, #2

Blended: #3, #4

#2 is the sheerest out of the four, whereas #1 is the brightest and scariest looking one.
With Miss Tangerine, I think I would apply the smallest dot and layer it under a light orange powder blush to enhance the colour.

Jill Stuart Lip Jewel in 13 Sparkle Amber.

Sparkle Amber is a newly released shade for Jill Stuart's Fall Collection. Contained within their infamous Princess packaging, this lipgloss applies sheerer on my lips than the swatch on my arm.

the formula is not sticky (I don't know why I thought it would be...) however when I press my lips together I feel the glitter particles.

It however is a pretty shade to add some warm to your lips in autumn/winter in any occasions.

Maybelline Baked Blushes.

Maybelline recently released a range of products for Fashion Week for Fall 2011. A range which is available in the US as far as I know as I haven't seen them in the UK.

Within this range are three limited shades of their new baked blushes which Jenn kindly offered to pick up for me.

Pressworthy Pink: A cool tone candy baby pink.

Ravishing Rouge: A warm tone wine red.

Stage Glow: A cool tone pearly white highlight shade.

Here's a little look where I'm wearing Pressworthy Pink and Stage Glow as highlight (but you can't really see).

These baked blushes are said to be comparable to the Chanel Jous Contraste, check out Jenn's comparison here.

Liberty x Hello Kitty.

Yesterday saw the launch of the Liberty and Hello Kitty collection in the Liberty store.

I met up with Yasumi and did some hauling. It was a little disappointing as some of the things we wanted to have a look at and buy were not out yet but the collection itself is super cute!

My haul was mostly enabled by Yasumi, as it took some thinking and pushing in the right direction to make my purchase. So after our first trip into Liberty, a cuppa and a yummy cinnamon bun, we made our second visit to the third floor of Hello Kitty corner where I bought...

Notecards, Phone Case, Eyeshadow Palette.

The eyeshadows are soft and really pigmented, which is why it ended up both our hands :P
Here's a really quick look I created with the white, the taupey grey (first two on top row), the gunmental grey and midnight blue shade (last two on bottom row).

Blush is MAC Mineralize blush in Sakura.
Lipstick is Dior Addict in Basic.

Fangirling: Protect the Boss

I'm quite the fangirl, fangirling is a hobby of mine :P

I do it a lot home where my sisters are 'kind' enough to let me go on and on, I love fangirling with some of my favourite twitter girls too (Jian, Tiffany, Miss Shiny hehe, Eva, Lai Ying).

So what have I been fangirling over lately?

If you haven't seen this yet, then do when you have chance. It is so funny and a refreshing change from the usually angsty dramas. The characters are so perfect for their roles, they do comedy SO well.

A-Pink: Let Us Just Love.

It's still the same cliche, poor woman, rich guy storyline. However this women (No Eun Sol) is the stronger character while the guy is a childlike (adorable) character (Cha Ji Heon).

Talking of childish, he has a very erm unique relationship with his cousin Cha Mu Won XD. [Warning: Spoiler]

All I've done is post videos as opposed to summarise the drama...lol, hopefully from the videos you can see how hilarious this drama is (even that itself is worth watching haha).

I've been watching the episodes from this website.
Protect the Boss finishes next week :( so I'm looking for something new to watch. Any recommendations? :)

Paul & Joe Manhattan Collection Colour Palette: Central Park West.

Grabbed this beautiful palette at Harrods a couple of weeks ago. Originally I liked the look of Chelsea, but after swatching away with Yasumi and Kelly, Central Park West was the better palette.

Central Park West is a beautiful warm palette, consisting of four eyeshadows and one blush (centre shade).

The shades, especially the eyeshadows have a metallic sheen and I love the khaki shade as it's almost duo-chrome.

We get a lot of "are you both twins?" Erm no, we look nothing alike, right?

Yesterday my sister and I attended a fashion show at Freemasons Hall. She started university last week and as the budding young fashion student she was able to get a couple of tickets to the Fashion Shenzhen show.

I'm not sure whether I'll be doing a post on the fashion show itself as being short and sitting at the back, my already bad photos couldn't get any worse. However it was amazing as all shows that I've been lucky to see are, the atmosphere is overwhelming but really fun to be involved it (although it feels intimidating at times).

So I was only supposed to pop into Harrods, quickly grab some bits from Chanel for friends and get out of there.

It never works out like that does it? I ended up going into Harrods two times that day and spent hours walking around with my sister (that place is a maze!).

Speaking of Chanel, the Harrods exclusive Brompton Road Poudre Tissee is now out of stock in stores but still available online.

Part of the Knightsbridge collection; the three Rouge Allures, which I had no intention of buying, ended up in my bag. Yes, all three of them...

Over the few weeks or so, I've received a number of love packs from such amazing people that I'm so glad to be able to get to know.

From Yasumi. I won one of Yasumi's little twitter giveaways and got this lovely Art Deco palette with two eyeshadows. She was also kind enough to give me her Visee palette as I'm was curious about the pretty khakis :D

From Georgina. I had wanted to try the Etude House Tangerine Chox Blushes for a while and Georgina was kind to offer to grab them for me. She added so many extras to the package!

From Jian. Jian was so lovely to think of me while on holiday in the US. Can't wait to try the Wet and Wild palette!

From Rach. OMG a box of Mooncakes all the way from Hong Kong! I was so excited, I still can't believe she sent a whole box haha! And some cute Sanrio goodies too.

Moody Nails.

I got a bunch of Claire's Mood nail polishes in the post last weekend from Christine!

Spoilt for choice, I opted for multi-coloured nails and tried out a selection of shades.

From Thumb: Hyper/Relaxed, Flirty/Shy, Mellow/Crazy, Fabulous/ Funky, Excited/Bored.

These nail polishes try matte and try almost immediately. As you can see, especially in the flash one, the tips of my nails are more moody than the rest of my nails...

The two blue shades has already chipped after one day of wear while the other three are still going on strong.

NARS Outremer

NARS Outremer. A shade totally out of my comfort zone, yet one that I was very curious about.

20% off at HQHair? Outremer? Why not!

It swatches at such intense cobalt blue, but when applied to the eyelid it's a lot less intense depending on what you use to apply the eyeshadow with. The shade is definitely buildable to the blue in the pan.
This is my first NARS eyeshadow and I don't know if I'll grab another one, why? The texture. I don't know if it's the same with every NARS single eyeshadow, but I found the texture of this particular one dry? Maybe it's because most of the eyeshadows I own are really soft that I'm not used to how dry and powdery these ones are. So yeah, I prefer soft and smooth eyeshadows.
In saying that, I do like the shade of Outremer...

Kimono Jacket

I decided to splurge in Topshop as I rarely shop in there anymore.
I was helping some twitter ladies grab some nail polishes and took up on the free delivery offer and ordered this jacket on impulse! :P
You know that I have a thing for floral print, and I love the waterfall style front. The material is not sheer at all, therefore can be worn on cooler days too. It is quite a loose fitting too; so if you like a tighter fit, I would consider getting a size smaller.

Revlon's Facets of Fuchsia.

Flash.

When I applied the first layer, I thought to myself "it's like a witchy colour" lol. However with three layers, you get the same shade as what you see in the bottle. A black base with purple glitter and flakes.

Revlon's Facets of Fuchsia is a new shade released as part of their Fall collection and is supposed to be a dupe for Deborah Lippmann's Bad Romance. Check out Jenn's comparison here.

Formula wise, the black is very sheer and watery-like upon applying the first coat. The intensity of the colour builds layer upon layer but so does the glitter, it's so pretty but is a nightmare to take off...

Swatched! Chanel Poudre Tissee in Brompton Road.

So here it is, the swatches.

I'm surprised at how quick I was to want to swatch it, as usually I'm one to keep it aside for a while then swatch it when I come across it again in my bag of 'new make-up'. However I was curious about how it would look on me and especially if the double Cs were am overspray or not.

So without further ado... (quite picture heavy, some are of the same thing but I couldn't decide which one to keep. It's pretty, so we can look at it again right? :P)

Comes with a brush. Compact and brush in their pouches.

If you have seen or have the Ombre Tissee from Chanel's Aquarelles collection (exclusive to Selfridges in London), then the Poudre Tissee is very similar.

There is a thin glitter overlay on top, which upon application just brushes away so no fear of looking like a disco ball :)

Swatched: Pink background, White double Cs, Mixed together.

Seeing as the powder is both a blush and highlighter, it's probably a given that the double Cs would run all the way through the compact, no?

In the posts that I linked to yesterday, it seem as though it was just a pretty overspray. When swatching with my fingers, there was a point when I thought that it was indeed a overspray. However when I used the brush to apply it onto my cheeks, it went back to the way it was at first. I was slightly confused, so I scratched through a little section (not all the way through, I'm not that crazy! XD) It seems to run all the way through, yayy!

Chanel World landed in Harrods today!!

I don't have any photos of their displays as I had no intention of blogging about it, until I released how pretty and exclusive it was...

Basically all of Harrods window displays consists of Chanel's A/W collection modeled by wolves and deers, go see for yourself, you'll know what I mean ;P

Beside the huge installation, Chanel have also released a Harrods exclusive make-up collection called Knightsbridge. All products are named after the surrounding area of Harrods.

The collection includes a Poudre Tissee (blusher and highlighter) in Brompton Road, three Rouge Allure Satin Lipsticks in Kensington, Belgravia and Hyde Park, and a Glossimer in Chelsea.

I don't have the guts to swatch it just yet, but I definitely will as it a lovely shade (under the sparkles).

So if you're around Knightsbridge, pop in Harrods and have a snoop around. I feel like going back and having a peep at the lipsticks now....

Chanel Rouge Byzantin.

Anna made me get this! LOL her pics were enough to convince me that I wanted this beautiful lipstick.

Rouge Byzantin is Rouge Allure formula, my first from this range. It is super pigmented, very moisturising and is long wearing.

This lipstick is from Chanel's highly sought, limited Byzance collection. In saying that the full collection was limited to Selfridges and Chanel boutiques in London and is still available (in Selfridges at least).

Rouge Byzantin is a lovely intense pink-red with red shimmer, I teamed this lipstick with a smokey look.

Today's lunch with my sister at the newly opened Ed's Diner on Oxford Street (behind Boots).

This was our first time at Ed's and it was a pleasant one, food was good and service was lovely.

I really love the Diner experience of it (although they should totally have their waiters/waitresses on rollerskates! :P), we need more in London!

I think Mother Nature forgot about Summer this year...

The weather here in good ol' London is a little nippier and the tree branches are dancing a little too aggressively.

It's nearly time to bring out the Autumn-wear!

One addition to my accessories drawer is this beautiful leopard print scarf from H&M, it is the perfect circle scarf. It's the right length to wrap around your neck twice, and it's just the right size to puff out slightly.

No doubt I wear it to death this Autumn/Winter.

Canmake Cream Cheek 12

Jenn was lovely enough to grab me the newest Canmake Cream Cheek shade that was released a couple of months ago as part of their summer collection. I think this shade is also limited edition.

#12 Milky Orange.

I find it's a more milky powder peach colour rather than an milky orange, nonetheless it's a really cute shade to add a blush of colour to the cheeks. It looks as a matte pastel colour in the swatch but it contains very fine silver shimmer.

Canmake's Cream Cheeks are lovely and creamy and are very easy to blend. I'm on the hunt for swatches of the other shades to add more to my wishlist :)

I was browsing my local Poundland today and look what I came across...

Rimmel Eyeshadow in Stir It Up & U Rock!

At first I was like 'Rimmel?!', I had never seen these in Superdrug or Boots. Do you have it in USA? It's says it's for US distribution on the back, and I also spotted some CVS stuff too.

Anyway I picked these out as a whim as I was curious at how Stir It Up turn out as it looked so funky, and U Rock looked like a potential blush shade.

They are really soft/creamy, pigmented and amazing for £1! Pretty aren't they?

I found that not all Poundlands carry the same stock, so it is worth checking out the beauty section and really dig in to find those little gems.

Just a quick post to show you what I received in my Glossybox this month.

The August box is sadly my last. I would totally recommend Glossybox, it's just that personally I won't use the products as much. I have a box full of samples, and many others boxes of products to go through so these would just add to the collection and I would never get through them all. :P I have this thing for collecting...

I'm on a bit of a highlighter craze at the moment! This is the latest product to add to my collection, Estee Lauder's Illuminating Powder Gelee in Modern Mercury.

"High polish for your skin. Innovative tri-blend liquid, powder, gel formula goes beyond face powder to give you a sexy, sophisticated glow"

I really like the pebbled, pearl texture of the powder and the wave effect (if you can see). I think this is one of the highlighters I own which leans towards the warmer side. It's a lovely shade to use for an eye look too as Jamilla. :)

I don't know if it's just me, but there is a scent. I can't put my finger on what it smells like, but it gets a bit weird after a while :P Anyway, isn't it pretty? :)

Because I can't think of a better title XD

A few weeks ago, I order a new maxi dress from the H&M sale. For about £3, you can't go wrong really.

As you can see, it is long! Being a petite 5ft1, I find it hard to find the perfect maxi dress in terms of length. The only place I find that does suitable lengths are from wholesales stores.

However, I was able to easily alter the length. Trimming a bit off and re-hemming it, it now falls below my ankles :)
