In That Style: Florals & FOTD

Florals have been one trend which have been invading fashion stores. From large and bright to ditsy and soft coloured flower patterns, it's a trend which is set to go on till summer 2010.

 DKNY, Richard Chai, Adam

Chanel, DKNY, Christian Dior

 DKNY, Marni, Dolce & Gabbana

MAC in Lillyland: Pearlmatte Face Power & Pearlmatte Eye Shadow

Shoes, leggings, tops, blazers, make-up. Floral is everywhere!
Some of my floral pieces :)

Personally I think that floral leggings/jeans and blazer are too eccentric for me. What do you think of the floral trend?

Quick FOTD too :D

NARS Temptation Kit & FOTD

I recently recieved this kit as a swap I did with someone from the US. They ordered this for me from Sephora, it was priced at $30 (about £19). It is also available in the UK, you can get it directly from the NARS website for £26. Sephora please come back to the UK! ^^
The kit contains a blush in Super Orgasm and a nail polish in Orgasm.

I had heard raves about NARS Orgasm blush and actually thought that was what was in this kit. Trust me not to read the Super in front of it! Super Orgasm is said to have a more of a golden shimmer than Orgasm which frightened me a little, however i really like this coral blush. It can also be comparable to Benefit's Coralista perhaps, I probably do that in a later post :) The nail polish is equally as gorgeous!

The blush is actually quite sheer but is builable upon your preference. The Nail polish after two layers.

LFW: 20th Feb 2010. Jasper Garvida AW Collection

A few days ago i checked my email to find that I was lucky enough to win a pair of tickets to Jasper Garvida's catwalk show.
The competition was hosted by foreverbetter. Participants had to finish off this sentence:
"I’d love to attend Jasper Garvida’s LFW show because…"
and this was how i finished it off:
"LFW is a event i'd been longing to go for a while now, but with work and uni commitments i had never got a chance. This would be a fantastic opportunity to widened my knowledge of designers and trends in the fashion world."

I entered the competition with no intention of winning as i read other people's entries to find that their answers were related to Jasper Garvida himself, I thought i had no chance as i hadn't heard of him since that day when Helen spoke of her invite to the show.

But luckily i was chosen and i was super excited as "I have never won something as big as this!" those were my exact words XD
Both my sister (who i wanted to come with me) and I had work on the day of the show (Sat) and were afraid we couldn't make it, it was a once in a lifetime chance and we really wanted to go!

Lucky (again!) we could (thank you work!).  The show was located  at Freemasons' Hall near Covent Garden which was only a short walk from the underground station.

I can say once we entered the building the atmosphere was almost surreal. Both of us felt so underdressed compared to other attendees. People's personality shone in the way they were dressed, that alone was inspiring.

It was at the Hall were I met Helen an fellow bloggers along with Claire and Roxy who were the ladies who notified me of my win.

My invite!

As the show was running a bit late we all went up to a room where new designers were exhibiting their pieces. I really wish i took more photos now, but at that moment in time i was still in awe. I did however manage a few photos of my favourite pieces.

Now onto the show itself. Being a blogger, we were able to get front row seats. Helen, my sister and I sat at the very end of the catwalk, which personally i felt were the best seats :)
We also noticed that right opposite us sat Sophie Anderton (model), Liz McClarnon (from Atomic Kitten, Singer) and Beverley Knight (singer).

The collection, the catwalk show, Jasper Garvida was AMAZING! I loved every single one of his pieces. The music he choose fitted so well with the whole 20 min or so of the show.
The collection consists of dark greens and golds, oversized knitwear, huge zips, art deco inspired, embellishments pieces.
I think i managed to take pictures of every single piece, here are a few of Garvida's amazing work.

I want to thank, foreverbetter, Claire and Roxy for choosing me as one of the many winners. Miele, thank you for sponsoring an amazing show. Jasper Garvida, you are a inspiration, I loved your show and glad i manage to come across your work. Thank you for a gorgeous show!

I'm still fazed by last night, i had a wicked experience and can't wait to watch more shows this week. Look out for upcoming posts :)

I Caved In!! Superdrug Haul :)

After Uni I went to Charing Cross in search for a diary to keep myself organised this year, well i got the diary but ended up in Superdrug after.
Uni had ended, rain was pouring down, ranting on the phone to friends, I had a pretty crap day. So I shopped...
Retail therapy as people call it, to relieve stress, to bring that smile back and make yourself feel good. Well that was my excuse, although it's not really one is it? I broke the no more make-up pact :(
Oh well! :)

My haul!

I got the Sleek Face Contour Kit.

This kit is both a powder and highlighter in one. I got it in the lightest shade and although it looks dark in the pictures, it's actually right for my skin tone once blended in. A little goes a long way too. The highlight colour is a lovely pearly light beige. £5.99

Estee Lauder Electric Intense Lipcreme Trio (Travel Exclusive)

I got this on a whim, there were no testers. It was just on the shelves waiting to be picked up.
I only seem to find these good deals in the Charing Cross store, they do these travaller value sets. This is the Superdrug where i got the Lancome lip fan too for £2.99!
The shades are from left to right: Darling Diva (732), Love Affair (709), Scandalous (739).
These lipsticks are so creamy and easy to apply, i love them already! Favourite is Love Affair at the moment. £14.99

Barry M Dazzle Dust in 98, Petrol Black

This a fairly new shade released by Barry M, and after Helen's haul post, i had to get it. It's a mix of black and turquoise, it's so pretty and i can't wait to try it! £4.50
Also got the Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips (£3.99) and Pore Unclogging Scrub (£2.99) from the Pore Perfect Range. They were on offer and I love the nose strips! Will let you know how the scrub goes :)
And some handwipes to keep in my bag after tested products and what not :D

Oh and previous I went to King's Cross Station with Helen during a gap in my uni schedule and brought a few stuff from Paperchase. They're so cute!

Post Its and Pens.

So I guess i'll just have to tone the spending down, rather than stop completely huh? :P I've nearly finished the first product for my project 5 (i've decided now) pan though. Yay!
